Avro Lancaster Bomber

Avro Lancaster BIII, MG–A, JB 652, 7 Squadron, Oakington, Cambs. Crashed at Wissett near Halesworth, Suffolk, 21st December 1943. The pilot, Flying Officer Donald Field DFC, bravely stayed with the aircraft and managed to steer it away from the town of Halesworth potentially sparing hundreds of lives. A memorial to F/O Field´s bravery is erected in the Halesworth town centre. 137mm long, 25mm high.
